Step 4: FUND TRANSFER SCHEME

FTS is for those students who genuinely intend to study in New Zealand but have no access to funding older than six months. In FTS, students need to transfer the living expense of 12 months (or as directed by Immigration New Zealand) to a bank account (ANZ Bank) in New Zealand, in addition to paying the tuition fee for 1 year. The amount deposited in the bank is locked for 12 months (or as per immigration New Zealand instructions for a given period) and is then drip fed to the student on a pre-arranged basis.

Step 5: Payment of Tuition Fees

After the lodgment of your visa application, and once you have received the ” Approval in Principle (AIP) ” of your visa from the Immigration New Zealand, you will need to pay your 1st years tuition fees to the respective institution.

At this point, the students using FTS will also need to transfer their living expenses contributed to their ANZ bank account.

Step 6: Visa Outcome

You will be notified you of an outcome of your visa application on your email and you can then collect your passport. Now is the time for you to start planning your travel and accommodation for New Zealand!

1. The telephone number along with STD code of the Financial Institution should be provided for the verification of authenticity of funds.
2. Students are required to provide documentary evidence of income, along with the source of income, of their parents; even if the cost of the study is being sponsored by another person.
3. Under FTS student has no access to fund older than six months.

Student Visa Changes for New Zealand

New student visa changes for NZ from 2 April 2012

The students opting to study in New Zealand will have to demonstrate access to more funds because of a 50% increase in the funds required for living costs. The students will now need to have access to livings costs of $15,000 per annum, as compared to the existing requirement of $10,000 p.a.

The new changes also make it mandatory for the students to have a ready access to the funds required for tuition fee and livings costs for a period of 2 years, if the duration of the proposed courses is 2 years or more. For years subsequent to 2 years, the students will need to provide evidence of the payment plan.
